Lyric Street's Kirk Boyer Confirmed As Indie Music Week Panelist

Nashville, Tennessee - Indie Music Week (IMW) has announced that Kirk Boyer, Director, A&R for Lyric Street Records, will be a participating industry panelist. IMW, taking place in Nashville March 11th and 12th, will feature three professional industry panels made up of Major and Independent label executives, A&R Reps, promoters, producers, managers and entertainment attorneys. IMW will wrap up its festivities with a Music Industry Summit.

Mr. Boyer has been involved with songs, songwriters and artistic talent for nearly 17 years in Nashville. "I have been blessed and humbled to work with some of the greatest talent ever to set foot within the boundaries of the Nashville music community," Boyer states.

Boyer's music business journey began in 1988 when he was invited to come aboard the prestigious independent music publishing company, The Welk Music Group. The Welk Music catalog became so popular and highly valued that PolyGram Records purchased it in 1989. Boyer had the good fortune of being retained by the new company, PolyGram Music Publishing. Boyer remained with PolyGram Music Publishing for ten years until 1999 when he was offered a position as Creative Director with peermusic.

In 2001, Doug Howard, Sr.

Vice President, A&R for Lyric Street Records presented Boyer with an opportunity to work along side him as Director, A&R. Honored by the offer, Boyer set out to expand his industry knowledge and effectiveness as a record label A&R Representative. Lyric Street Records offers such outstanding artists as Rascal Flatts, Aaron Tippin and SHeDAISY.

"The business of music is ever changing. Therefore, you must be ready and willing to face the challenges that come. I continuously strive to integrate new angles, information and others' input concerning the A&R process. When you're blessed with great people surrounding you, it gives you a wonderful opportunity to learn, improve and become more prosperous," states Boyer.

Other confirmed IMW panelists include representatives from Universal South, Sony Music, Broken Bow Records, and Vivaton Records.

In addition to the industry panels, Indie Music Week will feature two Artist Showcases to be held at Nashville's famous Douglas Corner Café.
